1. What This Reference Is
Menlo Park Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections connected with Menlo Park, California, and San Mateo County. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with the City of Menlo Park, San Mateo County, California agencies, courts, libraries, or record custodians.
2. Lawful Use Rules
Use the pages only for a lawful purpose and respect the restrictions attached to the source record. You may not use the service or information found through it to:
- Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm a person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft, fraud, or unlawful impersonation
- Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
- Scrape, republish, or copy the pages at scale
- Interfere with security or disrupt normal operation
3. No Consumer Reports
The service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Neither the pages nor a result returned by a linked search tool is a consumer report. Nothing may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. Outside Portals and Links
County, state, city, court, library, archive, and sponsored-service links lead to organizations with their own rules, availability, prices, and privacy practices. Menlo Park Residents Directory does not control or guarantee an outside service. Review the destination’s terms before submitting information.
5. No Promise of Accuracy
The reference is provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, link, fee, coverage year, search result, or record description is complete, current, accurate, or continuously available. The source custodian should confirm a record before it is relied on.
6. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or an outside resource. That includes an action taken from a record or result found through the reference.
7. Your Responsibility
You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the service or a breach of these terms.
8. Original Material
The original wording, visual design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted without written authorization.
9. Revisions
Terms may be changed by posting a revised version. Continued use after a revision is posted means the updated terms are accepted.
10. Suspension or Blocking
Access may be blocked or limited when a person violates these terms, abuses a search surface, threatens another person, or attempts to compromise the service. A restriction may be applied without advance notice.
11. California Governing Law
California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000-7931.000, describes access to nonexempt government records, but it does not override confidentiality laws or require a custodian to create a resident list. Those rules do not make the reference a government office.
12. If One Term Fails
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The invalid provision will be applied as closely as the law allows to its original purpose.
13. Questions About These Terms
Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Record requests themselves should go to the San Mateo County or Menlo Park custodian named for that record.
